Play bridge with Grizz
Hi, this is Grizz. I am a professional bridge teacher, and member of the American Bridge Teachers' Association.

I help advancing players to upgrade their game from Standard American to the Two-Over-One Game Force system that is common in most expert games. I also teach advancing players how to play deadly accurate defense.

I also help players with new conventions, everything from bedrock Two-Over-One treatments like Lebensohl, Jacoby 2NT and New Minor Forcing, to exotics like IDAK, Kickback and Snapdragon Doubles.

I have been playing and teaching the game of Bridge on BridgeBaseOnline.com since 2004. BBO is the world's premier free online bridge site, and more information is available at http://online.bridgebase.com/

Come join the exciting world of internet bridge to learn the game, brush up on your skills, play social bridge, or match wits with the best players in the world! There is something for everybody at BBO, and if you have not yet visited the site let Grizz be your guide.

After downloading NetBridgeVu from the BBO site, you can kibitz or play 24/7 in the Main Bridge Club. Look me up any time!

BBO has several private clubs as well. Two of them are the Beginner and Intermediate Lounge (for Novice through Intermediate players) and Club2over1 (for more advanced). I teach in both those clubs, and will be using this site as an archive for those lessons. Chat logs for the lessons will be viewable with any word processor, and the annotated hand records will need the free NetBridgeVu application from BBO for full access.

Some of my lessons are open to kibitzers too, and a schedule is located on the Lesson Schedule page.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope to see you on BBO!

WHAT'S NEW?

In one of my recent lessons I referred to a table showing the expected number of Cover Cards you may expect in a hand, based on the number of High Card Points.  That table is here, Aces count for 2 controls and Kings count for one.

Sign in and tell us how we are doing at our new Guestbook.

Club 2-Over-1 at BBO has a new name - BBO-IAC, an acronym for Intermediate-Advanced Club.  There is a new archive for free lessons in BBO-IAC  here.

There are now detailed instructions for downloading and working with hand records.

Here is a sample hand and chat log from Slam Bidding with Grizz and Caitlin

And special thanks to Pedro Gil, my good friend and website mentor, without whose help this would still be just an idea.

COMING ATTRACTIONS:

I will offer three courses with Caitlin this year, on Defense,  Declarer Play and Balancing.

Check back for updates.
